The Baltic Tourism Academy is a new consortium of research and didactic institutions and experts in tourism in the Baltic Sea Region (BSR).
Tourism is one of the 13 priorities in the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR). The Baltic Sea Tourism Forum, which takes place every year, has become the most important forum for tourism stakeholders in the region. The scientific and didactic environment plays an important role in the multi-level tourism management system in the BSR. There is a need to develop the mechanisms for cooperation of this environment in the Region. It is advisable to inspire, support and coordinate interdisciplinary research in a transnational system. The Baltic Tourism Academy’s initiative, supported by the Polish Ministry of Sport and Tourism, meets these demands. Academia Europa Nostra in cooperation with the Gdynia Maritime University will soon launch this project’s website.
